Iron Kingdoms Cosplay Project: Part 2

Spread the love

I’ve been meaning to write an update to this for a while but everytime I’d got the images edited I had done more on the weapons so it didn’t feel worth posting old news.

I have now finished the 4 weapons that I had planned for the 2 different characters and work has begun on the soft elements of the costume.

I have ordered a few of the stock items like boots and shirt and am waiting for them to arrive and I have been in contact with the team at Darkblade LARP to help me make the custom leather workfor holding all of my gear. I shall be sending them one of each of a Slug and a Bullet so they can contruct an ammo belt to fit them along with a custom holster and scabbard. I’m really looking forward to seeing what they come up with.

I’ve also started on the armoured shoulder pads for the greatcoat and have printed one out so far but I want to make sure they fit on the coat properly before going too far, but as I am yet to order that there will be a bit of a wait there.

Finally some very (un)flattering shots of me modelling the weapons as well as one of the sword with the LEDs on before painting.

  1. You sharing your STL these anywhere?
I’m most interested in the magelock but all the work is great

    1. Hi Shawn,

      Thanks for the kind words.

As much as I’d love to share all the stls die to the licensing on some of the parts, especially on the guns I can’t reshare the stls as it is a derivative work and the license doesn’t allow sharing of derivatives.

The sword is all my own work though so that can be shared and I need to check the license on the wrench mechanism as I might be able to share that.

I’ll post again here if I do share them as they might also need tidying up before sharing them.

I can definitely share the links to the thingiverse files for the flintlock that I used to make the magelock though. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1484441

      Chris

      1. Cool thanks to the link for the flintlock. I’m not much of a 3D modeler so I’m not sure I could make the changes you did but links to anything would be appreciated.

      2. Can you not share it as a remix if sourced of Thingiverse?

        1. The problem comes from the No Derivitives License: NoDerivatives — If you remix, transform, or build upon the material, you may not distribute the modified material.

I might be able to strip out the Single Action mechanism and just add a static trigger and then share it. I’ll see if I can get some free time to have a look over the mext week.
